Blog Tour Guest Blog: Head Games - Cassadra Carr

Today we have fellow Western New Yorker (although I left the area many years ago for the Southern California sunshine) with us today to talk about her new book series following the hockey players of the Buffalo Intimidators.  Want to know how you get a menage story from a hockey team?  Read on for more.

Take it away Cassandra!

Whose crazy idea was it to have an entire hockey team with menage relationships?

by Cassandra Carr

Um, mine. *whistling*

I had wanted to write a menage series, so I started thinking about potential topics/scenarios. Since it was going to be a series, the characters should ideally be related to each other in some way. I'm not talking family here, I just mean that the characters should all live in the same world.

What world should I choose? So many worlds had been done before. Then I said to myself, "Hey! You write hockey romance! There are 23 guys on an NHL roster! PERFECT!" And so the Buffalo Intimidators series was born.

It did occur to me that it was a little strange to have an entire team of guys in permanent menage relationships, but hey, it's my world, and I can do what I want! ;-) Besides, just the very notion of a hockey team menage-ing it up all over the place was pretty hot to me. I'm intensely focused (hubs says to read that as "obsessed") on hockey, so that idea was quite attractive to me.

I've thought about having one player and another guy, but I don't know if that would fly or if I'd even really want to do it. Keeping it all in the family, so to speak, sounds like a fun challenge!

  1. Thanks for having me here today! I had no idea you were a former WNY'er. From what I hear you can take the girl out of Western New York but not the Western New York out of the girl. ;-)

  2. This is true, Cassandra. I still love my Bills, Zweigel hot dogs and miss Wegmans something fierce.

  3. The Bills are very difficult to love these days. And Wegmans is awesome. :-)
