Erin Bolton knows her former foster sister is a sorceress and a witch, but she wants nothing to do with that world. Fear dictates her life, panic attacks disable her, and only alcohol gives her the freedom she craves. The day before her twenty first birthday, a tall, dark, and terrifying vampire, Marcelo, turns Erin's world upside down. He convinces her that he was sent to escort her to the safety of the Underworld, where her sister is waiting. But she wonders, who will keep her safe from him?

Marcelo postponed his eight hundred year search for his wife to perform a small favor for the Queen of the Underworld. When the errand turns into a week long journey across the country toting a fragile female, his life takes a turn for the unexpected. Especially when, on Erin's twenty first birthday, he discovers there is more to this girl than meets the eye. And now instinct claims she's his. His mate. Meant for him, and him alone. Forever.

Can Marcelo give up his dream of reuniting with his long lost wife to be with the woman his body yearns for? Can Erin conquer her deep-rooted fears and confront the destiny only she can fulfill?
Destiny United is a paranormal romance novel.  This is the 2nd book in the Shadows of Destiny series.  I was unaware of this when I decided to do the review.  I can honestly say you don't have to read the first novel in order to understand what is going on.  I don't feel like I missed anything but maybe another good novel.  Leia Shaw was good at referencing to the characters in her first novel and bringing them to life in the second.  Destiny United is a book that you will not want to miss a page, make sure you have a full day of reading available as it is almost impossible to put down.  It starts with a very exciting beginning and ends with climax of excitement!

Be prepared to enter a secret world of the unknown.  Where queens rule the world filled with sorceresses, vampires, werewolf's, and much more.  Marcelo is given an assignment to protect and bring Sage's sister Erin to the underworld for protection.  Erin is unaware of anything that is happening.  The last thing she remembered was dancing on a bar top when a fight broke out.  She woke up in a strange hotel room with  a huge dark haired dark eyed man watching her.  The only explanation is he was sent to protect her and deliver her to her sister Sage.  The two discover a journey that seems to hop from one part of the land to another, where they meet up with blood thirsty werewolf's and faes, who's only goal is to kill Erin.

Erin is a woman of strange anxiety and fears.  She  suffers from social anxiety to the extremes.  She has panic attacks each time she sets foot outside her door.  The only thing that helps her overcome her fears are  xanax, and tons of alcohol.  She is not sure if her feelings dwell from her sister Sage and her speakings of a secret underworld which consists of witches, sorceresses, vampire, werewolf's and more, or the fact she was bounced home to home growing up.  On her 21st birthday she discovers a shocking transformation that will change her life forever.

Marcelo is your classic Alpha male.  He is strong, handsome, smart, witty, and a vampire.  He has been searching the land for 843 years trying to find his wife.  Marcelo does not like anything getting in his way nor does he like to be challenged.  He is used to getting his way.  Until an assignment is handed to him to protect the easy going Erin.  He doesn't know it or understand it but he wants to protect her forever.

I can honestly say I could not put this book down.  Every time I was interupted by my husband or children I thought I was gonna go nuts.  I read this book in less then 24 hours.  Yes it is that exciting.  I am not a fan or romance novels but this one had just the amount of lust I was looking for.  Not too much detail but just enough to keep me extremely interested.  Erin was such a tease and played so hard to get.  If I was her I would have given into temptation.  Just run and grab a quick copy, you will not regret it.

  1. Ooh A roadtrip with a vampire with all the enemies on your tail. Sounds like a fun ride.
