In life, one choice can lead you in vastly different directions. Penny Anderson is about to discover this for herself, in Penny Candy and Hard Candy. Two parallel stories, two very different endings.

Hard Candy
Penny Anderson is sick of the questions that keep running around inside her head. Coming home to Bandit Creek is her opportunity to find out the truth of her mother’s death, as well as to discover if the flame still burns brightly for her high school sweetheart. Only, she never reckoned on the unexpected lust for not one, but two men. Craig Baxter and Douglas McKenzie have their sights set on Penny and they aren't about to let her go.

I read Penny Candy first, thinking Hard Candy was going to be a sequel to the book.  WRONG!  Hard Candy is Penny Candy with additional story elements (mainly Penny and Craig's relationship with Mack).

This said, I enjoyed the added element of the relationship between Mack, Penny and Craig.  Mack and Craig had 2 times given into their attraction to each other.  The last time left both Craig and Mack confused.  While Craig has moved on with his feelings for Penny, he still harbors feelings for Mack.  Mack realizes he's in love with Craig but thinks he's too late because of the burgeoning relationship with Penny.  What neither of them realize is that Penny had dabbled with two men and is interested in trying a menage relationship with these two men she has strong feelings for.

The menage is somewhat light, compared to what I've read before, but this story is much more focused on the emotional elements of having such a relationship than the sex itself.

Another great way to spend an hour on a Saturday.
