When a hot little strawberry blonde from the audience interrupts country music superstar Ryder Landry’s concert and accuses him of stealing a song, he thinks she’s just another fan, using an innovative method to get his attention. Backstage, she doesn’t want anything to do with Ryder’s seduction—not right away, anyway.

Brooke Davidson barely has the willpower to put a stop to Ryder’s foreplay, but she’s there on business. Illegal business, because he’s taking credit for a song she’d written. When they determine it had been stolen by a third party, they set out to find the man, ending up together in intimate, sexy, tantalizing situations.

Ryder normally keeps his public and private lives separate, especially now, with all the secret family matters he’s working through. His rule has always been to never spend more than one weekend with a woman, but Brooke has him wondering if his rule needs to be changed. She’s quirky, uninhibited, and intensely sensual, but a new revelation about the stolen song has him doubting her and his feelings for her. Will he be able to get past his uncertainties, or will Brooke’s jealousy and distrust keep them from exploring the irresistible connection between them?

Karen’s Thoughts

This is a charming story about hot country star Ryder Landry.  Ryder meets Brooke when she interrupts his concert claiming she wrote the song he’s currently singing.   Women are always trying to get Ryder’s attention so he doesn’t take her seriously.  He assumes she’s just another groupie, but when he meets her after the concert, he’s surprised to find she isn’t there for a hookup.  She really believes he stole her song.  Ryder doesn’t want any legal problems with his new hit and agrees to help Brooke clear up the problem.

Ryder’s a complicated man.  He’s happy living a solitary life and his fame keeps him insulated from the rest of the world.  He has few friends, has never been in a relationship with a woman and has no interest in starting one.  He’s content having sex with random women who are excited to spend time with a big star like Ryder.  Once Ryder meets Brooke, there is something about her that draws him to her, but he’s afraid to let anyone get too close.  Ryder has built up a lot of walls and he doesn’t trust easily.  Even though he is drawn to Brooke, he’s too afraid to let go and see where it might lead.  Ryder has never met anyone like Brooke; she’s feisty, smart and says whatever is on her mind.  Plus, they have incredible sex whenever they are together. Ryder’s confused and frustrated.  He doesn’t want a relationship with Brooke, but he also isn’t interested in being with another women.  He keeps pulling back and each time he does, he hurts Brooke’s feelings.

This the third book in the series and each one is a stand-alone about a different country star.  The guys featured in each book are all friends so they are included in this story too.  Randi Alexander writes an entertaining story about a sexy country singer afraid to open his heart.  I liked Ryder and Brooke and wanted Brooke to help Ryder tear down his walls and learn to love.
