When Lucas agrees to help out a friend by acting as a bartender for his party, he has no idea what he’s getting himself into. His friend Ben has a boyfriend named William, who owns a gay leather bar. When one of the Doms at the party overhears Lucas say he would never be interested in submitting to another man, he takes it as a personal challenge to show Lucas otherwise. The Dom in question, Aidan Sinclair, makes a bet with Lucas during a poker game—a bet that Lucas loses. After a night of sensual pleasure, Aidan tells Lucas he never plays with anyone more than one night and sends him packing. Yet when Lucas takes a job tending bar at William’s new club, Aidan seems determined to convince him he’d make a perfect sub and pursues him relentlessly.

Can Aidan convince Lucas to stop fighting his submission, or will an unknown stalker from Aidan’s past come between them for good?

Victoria’s Thoughts

Lucas goes to a party to help out a friend.  Lucas seems to have no ability to say no to anyone.  He struggles to stand up for himself either with Aidan or his best friend Ben.  Lucas seems to go along with the flow.

Aidan Sinclair is a Dom at the local BDSM club.  My biggest issue with Aidan is while he is a Dom he seems to forget how to be a real Dom.  He pushes Lucas almost to the point past actual consent.  He also seems to take issue with Lucas being straight and wants to change him.  Aidan seems to have a good heart under it all.  Toward the end of the story he really seems more of a Dom than the beginning.

The connection between Aidan and Lucas is intense.  They are ironically pushed together more than they would have by Aidan’s stalker.  The stalker seemed to want to push them apart.  I think without the stalker the passion between Aidan and Lucas would have faded due to Aidan’s push not to become involved with anyone more than once.  The sex scenes were scorching.

I found this book well written with a unique plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating.  While the ending was a little predictable, the journey the book takes the reader is gripping with several unanticipated twists and turns. I had a hard time putting this book down.   Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
