After his mother dies, rock star Ace Whiteβ€”lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked Whiteβ€”is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some placeβ€”any placeβ€”where he can be alone.

Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting himβ€”something he’s not telling her.

Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

Susan’s Thoughts

Very well written book, loved it from beginning to end. Ace is the lead singer for the band “Wicked White” and is unhappy with the band and the direction their music is going. Iris is an aspiring actor and the two meet with Ace renting a mobile home from her. He is hiding out from the band after ditching them during a performance and she is trying to sort out her grandmothers belongings and the mobile park she owned.Β  Ace finds himself helping Iris around the mobile park and keeping an eye out for her safety.Β  They develop a friendship that blossoms but can it withstand the media frenzy that is sure to come their way when Ace is found?

He had a rough childhood in and out of foster homes until he is taken in by Ms. Jackson she shows him sincere love and truly cares about him. He gets news that she has been taken to the hospital right before a performance and leaves to be with her. His band is upset but Ms. Jackson was like a mother to him and he wants to be there for her like she has always been there for him. He drops off the radar and hides out in a low-key out of the way mobile home renting it from Iris who just recently inherited it from her grandmother. Their friendship starts out rocky but Ace finds himself coming not only helping Iris out but also coming to her defense several times.
