If you’ve been following the Only series, we were last left with Grayson walking into the “club” Emma secretly worked at. If left readers wondering what was going to happen with this couple once Grayson discovered what she did on Wednesday nights. Luckily Cristin Harber doesn’t make this discovery overly angsty and we find a Grayson who has grown up a lot.
Emma’s secret job was something she was terrified of not only Grayson finding out about, but also her overly protective brother. So when they both end up showing up at the club on the night things go horribly, horribly wrong, Emma’s secret gets out and she sees the type of heroes her brother and Grayson are. As much as Emma hated what she had to do in order to keep a home for herself and her daughter, I think it helped the men in her life realize exactly how strong Emma is and the lengths she would go to in order to make sure both her and her daughters lives got better.
Grayson was still the Grayson that I’d grown to love through the other books, but in this one he accepted what Emma did to ensure their daughter had a good home and learned that the most important thing to him were those two females.
A great ending to this novella series. Having not read any Cristin Harber books before, I’m definitely a new fan and will soon jump into the Titan series (which this spins off from).
