In the second novel in bestselling author Caisey Quinn’s Neon Dreams series, a country rock band and its members embark on the rocky road to fame and find love along the way.

Dallas Lark is so close to achieving his dream of making it big in country music that he can taste it. Arriving in Nashville after signing with sexy, successful manager Mandy Lantram, his life goes from tragedy and turmoil to one lucky break after anotherβ€”except it isn’t really luck because Dallas has sacrificed everything for his career, leaving behind his band, sister, best friend, and high school sweetheart, Robyn, in the pursuit of fame.

Robyn Breeland is a successful marketing coordinator and promotions specialist for a thriving liquor distributor out of Texas. She loves every aspect of her job: coming up with new ideas, traveling, hosting promotional parties and exclusive eventsβ€”until it brings her face-to-face with the man who broke her heart, prompting her to erect a steel cage around it.

When their paths collide and they’re forced to work together, Dallas and Robyn realize that the old spark they thought they’d extinguished might still be a burning flame.

Loving Dallas is the second book out of Caisey Quinn’s Neon Dreams series. It follows the lives the country band Leaving Amarillo: Dixie, Gavin and Dallas. Dixie is a talented fiddle/violin player and sister to Dallas and she is quite a talented lyricist. Β Gavin is the super sexy, bad boy drummer and Dallas is the guitar playing older brother to Dixie who is driven to succeed.

The first book left me hanging and honestly I was upset. Β I didn’t want the band to break up and I wasn’t ready for the story to end. Β Loving Dallas starts right where Leaving Amarillo left off with Dallas going on tour without Dixie and Gavin. Β His manipulative manager Mandy has changed his name from Dallas Lark to Dallas Walker and he is touring with Jase Wade as his opening act. Β Dallas definitely isn’t feeling sure of his new persona and not quite loving the ebb and flow of touring and the money making business of the music industry.

Dallas has enough on his plate but then he gets hit with seeing Robyn Breeland again. Β The girl who dumped him years ago with no explanation. Β Robyn has the job of her dreams handling PR and marking for Midnight Bay who is sponsoring the tour. Β She has worked her butt off the get where she is and no matter how attracted she is to Dallas she has to stay the course.

Of course, there is a backstory here and you need to read it because it is super enjoyable. Β Dallas is the only boy Robyn has ever loved and the chemistry between the two is hot. Β Dallas never understood why they broke up and there is alot of water underneath their bridge. Β Deals are struck but will these two get burned again?

Pick this one up because the banter between these two is fantastic, the chemistry on fire and if you love second chance romance, Loving Dallas is the book for you. Β If I am honest, I wanted more Dixie and Gavin but I know there time is coming and I can’t wait. Β The Neon Dreams series is Caisey Quinn’s finest work to date. Β She really dives into the seedy side of the music scene but also shows her love for music through her characters’s words and actions. Β Caisey feels the music, the characters feel the music and you feel the music all the way through these books.

LOVING DALLAS

I should’ve changed clothes.

It’s the only thought I can hold on to as the cabdriver drops me in front of Rosa’s Diner, a small fifties-themed place tucked between a run-down hardware store and an all-night pharmacy.

For God’s sakes, I still have my Kickin’ Up Crazy tour sponsor pass dangling from the Midnight Bay lanyard around my neck.

Nice, Robyn. Very sexy.

I yank it off and shove it in my purse knowing that I should not care about being sexy. This is just pancakes with an old friend. An old friend who might not even show.

Just as I whip out my compact to check my makeup, I see him out of the corner of my eye. Dallas beat me here, probably because I took a twenty-five-minute detour of indecisiveness. Snapping the compact shut, I pace for a few minutes.

β€œIt’s not a big deal, Robyn. Stop acting like a teenager having lunch with the varsity quarterback. It’s just Dallas,” I whisper-yell at myself. β€œYou’re being ridiculous. Cut it out.”

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I don’t know why, but it feels like this particular decision is much grander than it warrants.

It’s pancakes. He’s a friend. No big.

But as I open the diner door and a bell chimes overhead, his eyes meet mine and the moment feels monumental. I check the steel cage I erected around my heart the moment I learned he was going to be on this tour. Seems fairly sound, no major breaches so far. That I can feel anyway.

I give Dallas Lark the best I-am-so-over-you, this-is-totally-casual-and-it’s-all-good-in-the-neighborhood smile that I can.

His answering smirk tells me that one thing definitely hasn’t changedβ€”even after all this time.

I’m still a crappy liar.
