You can't go back, and you can't stand still...

Lucy Doolan is a marketing genius. She can sell rain to a frog and snow to a polar bear. Newly single and unemployed, she's lured back to her hometown of Harmony, North Carolina to help out her pregnant evil stepsister... only to find former crush heartthrob Brogan Reese has returned too, to open a new business in town. To add insult to injury, he's still hot.

If the thunder don't get you, then the lightning will...

Brogan never noticed Lucy much when they were young, but seventeen people have recommended her to help him. She's got his attention now. With her sweet personality, brilliant imagination, and penchant for doing the completely unpredictable, Brogan is finding a whole lot of excuses to spend his days—and nights—with Lucy.

Not So New in Town is number two in the Harmony Homecomings series. Even though I haven’t read number one in this series, I really enjoyed this book. Summers has created some very sassy, quirky, loveable characters who really draw readers in. I didn’t feel lost starting out with #2 and I think that is due in large part to Summers’ character development. I loved Lucy and all of her imperfections, hunky Brogan, and Lucy’s BFF–the fiercely loyal and sassy Wanda! Harmony is a small southern town full of big personalities (many of the characters reminded me of something out of Steel Magnolias) where everyone knows everybody’s business. Lucy and Brogan come back to Harmony for different reasons and they are soon the talk of the town. Their pasts seem to haunt them and it’s only complicated by the fact that everyone in town knows their current business & remembers their pasts very well. Summers managed to create a not-so-predictable love story. She expertly intertwined the characters and their relationships and separate storylines into a very cohesive and entertaining book. I definitely recommend this one—you will enjoy it and laugh out loud like I did!
