Gwen Reed has never been lucky in love, but now she’s betting on one man ready to care for her like no one ever has… Fresh off of the most humiliating romantic disaster of her life, Gwen sees no reason not to get tipsy and throw herself at her sexy bad boy neighbor. But she never expected their one night stand to have consequences that would keep them together...or for his concern to turn into something that feels like it could last. Dominic Brady has always admired Gwen from afar, and now that she’s single, he has no reservations about saying yes to one wild night. Soon he’s interested in a real relationship. But when their future is uncertain, Dominic is determined to show her that he takes care of what’s his. And that no matter what happens, he’s one man she can’t lose.

Watch Over Me is a sweet, sexy romance with a wonderful cast of characters, fantastic dialogue and a nice mix of angsts, tension and laugh out loud fun. It was enjoyable and totally brought the β€œfeels”.

Gwen Day is tired of feeling like second best. After being dumped by her latest boyfriend, she’s decided all men are more trouble than they are worth and that goes doubly for her gorgeous, totally irresistible neighbor, Dominic Brady, who she’s had her eye on from afar for a while now. But one to many glasses of wine and the cheering on of her best gal pals has her randomly knocking on his door one evening, ready to lay it all on the line for a night of fun.

Dominic Brady has secretly watched Gwen since the first day he saw her. When she started going out with his best friend, he knew his chance had vanished but when she unexpectedly knocks on his door one night and offers him what he’s been wanting all along, he’s powerless to turn her away.

After a fantastic night together and a condom mishap, these two are catapulted into an nontraditional relationship filled with lust, sweet moments and two people who are helpless to fall in love with one another. The problem is, while they stick close, waiting for word of their impending future, miscommunication, fear and uncertainty create walls and these two have to find a way to climb them before they lose everything.

Gwen was a wonderful character. She wants to be valued by the man she’s dating but in the past, she’s always felt there was something missing. With Dominic, she sees what a true relationship can be like, where the man adores her, looks after her and gives it his all. But wrapped up in all that potential is fear. In the past, nothing good has ever lasted and now that she’s found β€œthe one”, she doesn’t want to lose him.

Dominic has never been serious about a woman in the past. But one look at Gwen and he knows he’s found β€œthe one”. Usually, he’s on top of his game but doubt and fear has him second guessing his actions and everything quickly spirals out of control. His ego takes a beating but he knows what he wants, which is Gwen. He just has to figure out how to get it. Dominic was a lot of fun as he and his friends banter back and forth. Some of the dialogue in this book kept me in stitches!

Dominic and Gwen were hot together as their chemistry burned up the pages. And I enjoyed the additional side stories as past character made an appearance.

But….
There were many times when the story got bogged down by long winded, repetitive monologuing from the hero and heroine. Many times, Gwen went on and on with her self doubts and fears and missed opportunities in the past. She did this over and over throughout the story and it was a bit much. I loved how Gwen pushed through her doubts and kept going. She was strong and kind and a great friend but I hated how often she felt sorry for herself.

In all, this was a great read with a lot of romance, a bit of tension and a wonderful amount of angsts sprinkled with some very funny and exciting moments. I enjoyed the camaraderie between the characters and of course the ending gave me the happy feels! Great read!
