Sometimes faking it is your only option...
Football player Stephen Harrison has hit rock bottom—he’s fresh out of rehab, lost too much weight to be an effective offensive lineman, and has no support system in place. The Bobcats staff suggests he get a life coach to keep him sober and get him back into playing shape, but Stephen says his girlfriend will help. Too bad he doesn’t have one...
Luckily for Stephen, he does have a housekeeper. Margaret has always dreamed of starting her own elite cleaning service, and the money Stephen offers her to play the part of girlfriend is too good to pass up. But while Mags is helping Stephen bulk up and get ready for training camp, she can’t seem to block the feelings crashing into her heart. And one night of passion will pull both of their heads out of the game...

TAKES TWO TO TACKLE is the third book in the Santa Fe Bobcats series and each book is a standalone story about a different player on the Bobcats football team.  This is the first book I read in the series and I enjoyed it so much, I want to read the entire series.  Stephan Harrison, a professional football player with the Santa Fe Bobcats, has just been released from rehab and he is nervous about his future.  Drinking has consumed his life and he doesn’t want to go back to his old habits, but is afraid to trust himself.  Management also worries about Stephan’s future and they ask him to work with a life coach to ensure he stays committed to his sobriety.  To avoid having a stranger living with him, Stephan asks Margret Logan to pretend to be his girlfriend and move in as his life coach.  Margret cleans houses for a living and most of her clients are the players on the Bobcats team.

I liked Stephan; he is smart, has a sweet, sensitive side and he makes a great pretend boyfriend. He also has a vulnerable side and constantly worries he will fall back into his old bad habits.  Stephan and Margret are good people who unfortunately, have had some bad breaks in life.  They are down to earth and are thrown together at the perfect time to help support each other when they need it the most.  Once they get to know each other, Stephan and Margret realize they have a lot in common.  They enjoy spending time together and there is a lot of chemistry sparking between them.  I loved the camaraderie Stephan shares with the guys on the Bobcats team.  They are a close knit group and care about each other, but they enjoy giving each other a hard time.  Jeanette Murray writes a feel good, sweet story with a good story line.
