Since Jackson's partner died, life is one big routine. When he meets his neighbor, Elijah, he's intrigued by the mysterious man, and his somber world becomes exciting and beautiful. Elijah needed a fresh start after working in the dark world of pornography. Finding the strength to move away from drug abuse and his despised existence, he moves to Charlestown and discovers a connection with Jackson unlike anything before. Fear of losing the one man he's come to rely on keeps Elijah silent even as he grows determined to be a man worthy of Jackson's love. When Elijah's secrets are revealed, will Jackson be able to see past his former life and stand proudly beside the man Elijah is today?

“Angel’s Redemption” was a good story.  I enjoy May/December romance, so the blurb grabbed me right away.  I expected a bit of fluff and a quick HEA, but I got so much more. Jackson and Ben had been together for a long time, but tragedy struck, and Ben died.  Jackson has been alone for four years.  He still mourns Ben, so he and his dog, Shep.  He just can’t seem to imagine himself with anyone else, and he’s prepared to spend the rest of his life as a single man.  Enter Elijah, his new neighbor.  Thanks to Shep, the two meet and hit it off.  They become fast friends.  Jackson tries to fight his attraction to Elijah because he’s so much younger, and he feels a bit like he’s betraying Ben’s memory.

Elijah has been through a lot.  I mean, seriously, a LOT.  His life has been one terrible thing after another.  I won’t go into details.  I’ll just say that he is ashamed of his past, but he’s broken free of it.  He’s afraid to shate it all with Jackson because he feels that Jackson will turn him away.

He has no reason to worry, though.  Jackson has fallen hard for him and wants him in his life, no matter what.

Because this is a short book, their relationship develops quickly.  It seemed they went from friends to full on romantic love in zero to sixty.  What I liked, though, is that they didn’t jump instantly into bed.  Well, they did, but it was just to hold and comfort each other.  The sexual tension was there, but they waited, and that’s kind of refreshing.  Don’t get me wrong.  I love hot sex as much as anyone, but it was nice to see a sweet and powerful love unfold first.  The men are affectionate with each other.  They hold hands, and they snuggle and whisper sweet things that melted my heart.

In the end, they heal each other.  Each man needing the other to complete them.  The age difference didn’t matter at all because, and I hate to sound cliche here but…love is love, no matter what.  So, if you have a spare two hours or so, I recommend “Angel’s Redemption”.  It’s a love story, pure and simple.
