When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate - and prized - parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Christian Louboutins.
Brent has never let the loss of his leg in a childhood accident affect his ability to lead a fulfilling life. He sets high goals–and then he reaches them.
And now he has his sights set on Kennedy.**When Kennedy looks at Brent Mason, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell.
She’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore - she’s a DC prosecutor with a long winning streak behind her. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case and she thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.
But things aren’t exactly working out that way.
Because every fiery exchange has her wondering if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. Each argument and objection only makes him want her more. In the end, Brent and Kennedy may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.

APPEALED is a sexy, humorous romance about first crushes, second chances and the final verdict of the heart.

What a great way to end a fantastic trilogy!  A great second chance romance filled with humor, groveling and love.  This like the first 2 is fantastic.

Brent Mason grew up a prince – he had it all, looks, smarts and a wicked sense of humor.  He experienced tragedy at a very young age and since then he has done everything he can to prove himself to those around him.  Except he didn’t have to prove anything to his best friend Kennedy.  Kennedy Randolph grew up next door to Brent, a shy mousy girl never thought she was good enough and her mother didn’t help any.  Brent saw past that and loved her just for who she was – they grew up best friends but then after a huge misunderstanding Kennedy walked away from Brent never looking back and Brent never new why.

Flash forward 14 years – Kennedy is now back in his life as a prosecuting lawyer against Brent on a case that he takes very personally.  Kennedy wants to hurt Brent as much as she was hurt years before and neither of them know what hit them when they see each other for the first time in 14 years.  All Brent knows is that Kennedy is the missing piece he has been looking for and he vows to do anything to win her back.

Just like in the previous 3 books Emma Chase writes the story entirely from the male POV which I love.  The commentary that Brent has is funny (laughed out loud so many times), heartbreaking and real.    You feel for him when he is hurt and confused and you want to throttle him when you as the reader know the decisions he is making are completely wrong.  I also like the fact that we don’t know why Kennedy is so hurt and find out as he gets to know her again, it makes that part of the story real and as the reader I felt for Kennedy just like Brent did.

Jake and Chelsea and Stanton and Sofia are back and we do get to see glimpses into their lives which was fun.  We even get to see the 6 nieces and nephews from the previous book with a major development that brought a tear.  The epilogue was a great way to tie the stories up, it was the perfect ending.

If you enjoyed the first 2 books in the series then this is a must read.  Definitely worth the 5 stars.
