Lies. Deception. Betrayal.
Within less than twenty-four hours of proposing to the love of Gray's life, Liva disappeared. No note. No trace. No explanation. Nothing. Now, five years later, she’s resurfaced and Gray will stop at nothing to make Livia his again. But is love enough to forgive an unforgivable wrong?
Livia had less than sixty seconds to make a decision that would change her life forever. She sacrificed. She suffered. She survived. Now that she's back, she's determined that no one ever discover her shameful secret - especially the only man she's ever loved. But will hiding the past destroy her future?

Cocktails and Books received this book for free from Manic Readers in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.

This is the first book I have read by K.L. Krieg and it was a delightful surprise. I was immediately absorbed in this explosive story about a second chance at love.  This is the author’s first foray into contemporary romance and she did an outstanding job.  It is a fast paced, emotional roller coaster ride filled with intrigue, lots of twists and turns, romance and blistering sex scenes.

This story is about Gray and Livia.  Two people who were madly in love, but everything changed for them when Livia left Gray suddenly and without any explanation.  Since that day, they have both been brokenhearted.  Now, five years later, Gray and Livia are unexpectedly reunited when Livia unknowingly accepts a job at one of Gray’s companies.  There is never any doubt how much Gray and Livia love each other unfortunately, other people seem to get in the way of their love.

It is easy to like Livia and Gray and understand and sympathize with them.  Livia is tough but she has been treated badly and her story is heartbreaking.  She has been through a lot and is afraid to share her past with Gray.  Gray is just so happy to see Livia he doesn’t care about anything but having her in his life again.  I love everything about Gray; he is a mixture of bossy alpha male with a sweet, protective, caring side.  He doesn’t do anything half way; he works hard and loves hard.  When he fell in love with Livia, he fell hard and when she left him, it shattered him.

Gray and Livia have such an intense love for each other and K. L. Kreig is able to convey their feelings so well.  I just loved everything about this book.  K. L. Kreig has a great voice, she writes realistic dialogue, well developed engaging characters and steamy sex scenes.   Once I started this book, I could not put it down.  I had to find out what happens next. This is the first book in the Colloway Brother series and I cannot wait to read the next book about Gray’s brother, Asher.  Each book in this series is a stand-alone but the characters are all interconnected.
