Her head whipped around. Long, sleek blond strands slashed across her face, sticking to her crimson lips. Her gaze locked with mine. Her tawny, mostly golden eyes were wide. Excitement—hot and bright—flared in them.
That was when it happened. Lightning struck.
For two years, Kyle Jenns dodged danger and bullets with his now-best friend, Ari Bax, when ruined investors of the exclusive resort 10,000 Lux sabotaged not just the hotel, but also targeted Ari. Now with the bad guys locked up and Kyle being a full-fledged bodyguard and head of security at the Lux, he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life. Having absolutely no idea it’s going to happen the moment he lays eyes on a stunning blond named Tamera FenmoreThe chemistry between them is instantaneous and hot. But Tamera’s suddenly in the crosshairs of a killer, needing Kyle’s protection as much as she needs his passionate kisses. The danger escalates along with Kyle’s own burning obsession for Tamera—and everything he’s learned as a bodyguard will be put to the ultimate test when it comes to saving her.

I have been waiting what seems to be forever for Kyle Jenn’s book since falling in love with Calista Fox Burned Deep Trilogy.  I am so happy I wasn’t disappointed.

Kyle has changed a lot over the last 2 years since meeting Ari his best friend and her husband Dane Bax – the billionaire owner of 10,000 Lux hotel in Arizona.  When we first met Kyle in the Burned Deep series he was part of the marketing team at Lux but has the series moved on his thirst for adventure and danger and his eagerness to protect Ari took over and he became a bodyguard and expert in martial arts.  It was a gradual transformation that makes sense – the only thing he is needing a women that is not Ari.  Enter Tamara.

Tamara has known Kyle for awhile but they have been more of acquaintances rather than true friends.  When Kyle almost runs Tamara over with his car sparks start to fly.  Then when Tamara’s life is in danger what was turning into a romance has been elevated with the danger she is facing when Kyle assigns himself to protect her.

I am a fan of Calista Fox’s writing style.  She is a master at romance and action.  One of the things she did very well with Burning Obsession was to write Kyle true to who he is, he may be a bad a** now but he is still can be vulnerable, scared in some cases and loyal to his friends and now Tamara.  The book is told from Kyle’s POV and as the reader, you get to see him as he truly is.  The book is fast paced and packs in a lot.

If you are a fan of the Burned Deep Trilogy then this is a must read.  If you want to read a great story this is a standalone and is well worth the time.
