HGTV’s Property Brothers meets The Marriage Bargain in this second volume in the Billionaire Builders series, an all-new heart-wrenching and sexy contemporary romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.
When she was a teen, Raven Bella Stratton’s father was killed in a horrible car crash. The bigger shock was the discovery of a woman with him—Diana Pierce—and their two fully packed suitcases with airline tickets to Paris. Devastated by her father’s betrayal, Raven went to live with her aunt, never truly overcoming the traumatic event. When she discovers that the mysterious woman had a family with a husband and three boys, Raven vows to leave the memory of her father behind.
Until Dalton Pierce visits one night and suddenly her past challenges her future...
Leaving his life in California behind to run Pierce Construction with his two older brothers, Dalton Pierce has enjoyed returning home and studying his passion of woodworking. But when he visits the local bar with his brothers one evening, he’s immediately drawn to the smart-mouthed, badass, sexy bartender who sets his body on fire. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem as intrigued by him, and his multiple advances are met with rejection. When he offers to restore the bar back to its original glory, he begins to work with her on a daily basis, and falls harder. His plan of seduction slowly weaves a web around them both, until they are caught up in the spell. But Dalton doesn’t know the secret that can either destroy them both...or finally mend two broken hearts.

I was really excited to read Any Time, Any Place after loving book 1 in the Billionaire Builders series.  I am excited to say book 2 did not disappoint.

Raven Hawthorne came to Harrington to learn more about the family who smeared her family name.  Bent on revenge for her father’s death she has one objective – take down the Pierce brothers.  But when they start frequenting her bar she sees there is more to the 3 brothers than meets they; especially the youngest brother Dalton.  With piercing blue eyes and arms that can be classified only as arm porn she knows that she needs to keep Dalton at an arms distance.  When she needs, some renovations done to her bar she reluctantly hires Dalton; figuring she may be able to get information about his mother out of him along with the restoration.  What she doesn’t count on is Dalton with his laid back demure and the spark that happens every time they are near each other, what Raven needs to decide is revenge or love more important.

Dalton knows who he is, a master in both wood work and women he is not looking for anything long term just a good time until he can move on to the next pretty girl.  The one women he cant seem to charm is Raven no matter how hard he tries.  When she finally gives in and allows him an opportunity to restore her antique bar he knows he now has a chance to get her alone.  When his feelings start to change and he begins to realize that maybe love is not a bad thing everything changes and what he believed to be true for the past 8 years may not be and that love is not something to run away from.

What I love about Ms. Probst’s books is there always seems to more than meets the eye.  The journey that Raven and Dalton take is more than just an average enemy to lover’s story.  They both had to discover and admit things to themselves that takes the story to another level.  Told in dual POV’s the author allows us to see the internal struggles these characters’ face and helps us understand why they make the decisions they do. We also learn things about Raven and Dalton that I didn’t expect which I loved. The dialog is sharp and witty and the descriptions of where these characters live and work is so descriptive that I felt I was in Harrington.  We do get to see Caleb and Morgan and Tristan and Sydney which is fantastic; we also get a glimpse of characters from her other books which was a great easter egg.  I did find a few continuity errors that were not a big deal but did give me a slight (very slight) pause when I was reading the book.  Other than that, the book was close to flawless.

All in all, I recommend book 2 in this fantastic series and am looking forward to Tristan and Sydney’s story next.
