four-stars

Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.
Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.
He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.
But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.
Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

This was a fantastic story the fourth book from Tillie Cole’s A Scarred Souls series.

901 is the champion fighter – a true killer in the pit controlled by Master.  901 has won every match by keeping his head done and not getting involved with anyone.  He is there to win and nothing else.  Then he sees her 152 – the beautiful slave that belongs to the Master.  When 901 shows the very slight bit of interest Master takes control and throws 152 in his path, even though 901 wants nothing to do with her, her beauty and sweetness wins him over.  Now they are fighting for their love and ultimately their lives.

152 doesn’t know who she was – all she knows is that the Master has taken a huge interest in her. Drugged and abused 152 is just trying to survive.  When the Master uses her to get to 901 she is drawn to his kind heart and what he does to take care of her.  Just trying to survive she clings to a memory of a boy from her past and the man who is a killer who hopefully can be her future.

The is the second book of the A Scarred Souls series I have read and I honestly really enjoyed it.  We are introduced to 152 in Ravage book 3 as Valentin’s sister and now we finally get her story.  The story is well written with great character development.  The relationship that these 2 characters form is a true love story just with a back drop of a very cruel life.  We do get to see everyone from the previous books with that part of the story driven by Luka.  There is a big pay off at the end where all 4 of these warriors from each book shine.

The great thing about this series is that you dont have to read all 4 books to understand what is going one – this story is a true standalone.  Overall while its not an easy book to read in some parts I do recommend it to those who love a great dark romance
