What a fun twist on the office romance!
Addison has a wild night out with Ruthless. Several months later she discovers that Ruthless, the part time male stripper, is actually/also Roman, a lawyer and her new boss. A valiant effort to remain professional finally comes to a head and they try a “fun” relationship that blossoms into so much more.
I liked both Addison and Roman and found them to be interesting characters. He is very alpha, but remains likeable as he doesn’t cross the line into obnoxious. Addison is a strong female character and plays well against Roman.
As much as I liked Addison and Roman individually and as a couple, the conflict is the story felt forced and a little trite. As well as these two worked together, both professionally and romantically, I found it strange that they would make the choices they did and let a simple misunderstanding blow up like it did. The resolution also felt a little anticlimactic. Addison’s quick and ready acceptance of Roman’s apology seemed a bit out of character from how we’ve known her in the rest of the story.
Even with the struggles I had with the conflict and resolution, I really did enjoy Ruthless. It was a fun and quick escape that has me curious about the other books in the series.
