This is a sweet, light, feel good baseball romance. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, although there were times, the story didn’t feel realistic. The story revolves around Travis Kidd, the left fielder for the Boston Renegades and Saylor Blackwell, his public relations specialist. Travis and Saylor spent a night together two years ago but Saylor immediately knew she made a mistake and promises herself it wIll never happen again.
Travis is an immature party boy who loves to have fun. He loves woman and having a good time but his perfect life changes when a woman makes some accusations against him. He has to defend himself and worries the bad press will hurt his career. Along the way, he starts to reevaluate the way he is living his life and all the women he has been with. Travis finally grows up but he finds it difficult to convince Saylor he is a changed man and she can trust him. Saylor is afraid to give up everything and take a chance on Travis and he has to work hard to convince her.
At first, I didn’t like Travis. He is selfish and self absorbed but as time goes on, Travis slowly changes and as he does, I found my opinion of him changing, too. I began to admire Travis for not letting all the negativity ruin his life. Instead he makes positive changes and gains a new perspective. Saylor has learned the hard way to never trust anyone. She is strong and independent and has a hard time letting anyone in. She is dedicated her job and her five year old daughter but her daughter is her priority and Saylor is willing to make any sacrifice necessary for her.
