Blog Tour: Dreams and Curses – Jacqueline Paige

Posted November 14, 2011 by Shannon in Blog Tour, Reviews / 10 Comments

We have Jacqueline Paige with us today as part of her Curses and Dreams Blog Tour.  She has an awesome post demonstrating which cocktail each of her characters would be.  Help me welcome Jacqueline to Cocktails and Books!

Being as I’m at Cocktails and Books today, I thought I’d do something fun with my characters.
If my characters were ‘cocktails’ which flavor would they be?

Hmm, let’s start with the characters from the three stories in Dreams

Dominic – manly, alpha, brooding, methodical – Cold Whiskey Sling (water, ice and whiskey)
Jennah – feminine, but strong, can definitely look after herself – Hurricane (light & dark rum, passion fruit syrup, lemon and lime juice) bus obviously she doesn’t partake while pregnant 😉
Brody – easy going on the outside, serious on the inside – 69th regiment (Irish whiskey, scotch whiskey, sugar, water)
Tess – sassy, determined and prefers to stand on her own – Ladies’ cocktail (absinthe, anisette, angostura bitters, Canadian whiskey)
Grayson – quiet, seemingly unapproachable unless you have circuit boards – Tom Collins (sugar, lime, ice, Gin, soda water)
Smithy – always seems to know what’s going on, mostly because he can pluck your thoughts right out of your head, easy going – Beer (bottle or draft)
Joslee – serious, quiet and not the guy you’d want to play hide and seek with 😮  – Brandy Toddy (sugar, water, brandy , ice)
Captain –   He really can’t afford to drink, because he has to try to keep track of all of the above.

The four main characters from the two stories in Curses are going to be a little harder to define I think, but I’ll give it a try.

Gracelyn / Arianna – warm, loving and just a little too accepting in my opinion – Orchard Punch (orchard syrup, lemon, pineapple syrup, ice, California brandy)
Evan – appears to be light hearted on the outside, but I wouldn’t want to mess with him – Rum and coke or Rum straight up!
Emma – assertive, quick to react, can’t sit still for too long  (we know wine isn’t her drink from the story) – Alexander cocktail (gin, chocolate liqueur, cream)
Bryce – it’s very hard to select his drink.  Before he was cursed I would have said anything and I’m sure he would have agreed with that.  Since he’s had forty years to contemplate and reflect I’m not sure he’d be one to drink more than a single drink on occasion – Whiskey Fizz (sugar, lemon, ice, seltzer water, taste of whiskey)

Some of those sounded quite tasty.  I’d try a few but that wouldn’t be very productive as far as my work load for today.

Thanks for having me here today!!!
