Laura Kaye is one of my one click authors. There is nothing this lady can’t write including historical fiction! Check out America’s First Daughter if you haven’t yet! I digress…moving onto Hard to Serve. This novella is part of the 1,001 Dark Nights and gives us a window into Laura’s new erotic series set in Blasphemy. This book left me wanting more of this series and all of the characters we are introduced to as we move along in the story of Kyler and Mia.
Kyler Vance is a Baltimore police detective. We got little pieces of him in the Hard Ink series as he helped our favorite guys. Unfortunately he is out of commission due to his injury involving our beloved Hard Ink guys and he is doing everything in his power to get back to the job he loves. To blow off some steam, Kyler shows up at Blasphemy, an exclusive BDSM club where he is part owner.
Mia Breslin is an art gallery manager and she is finally successful in her career but her love life is lacking. She is a submissive and knows it will take a special man to understand her needs. She joins Blasphemy and from her first meeting with Kyler, there are fireworks. Kyler, a Dominant, doesn’t do relationships but once he has tasted Mia, he can’t stop himself from going back for more. Mia quickly realizes she wants more from Kyler. Will she be able to change his mind? What happens when Kyler finds out she is the daughter of the new police commissioner?
Hard to Serve is just a novella but Laura Kaye packs characters you cant get enough of, a fast paced storyline, and incredible amounts of heat and chemistry, you just don’t want it to end. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us with this new series. The secondary characters are begging for their own books and I personally can’t wait. Laura Kaye never disappoints and this new series is going to be a steamy page turner!
