Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00002]Moving on doesn’t always have to mean goodbye.

Widowed makeup artist Jane Sullivan is more comfortable keeping her husband’s memory alive than dating a pool full of sharks. Ella, her 4 year-old daughter, is her whole world.

When Jane meets Lucas Oliver, famous cover model, it’s hate at first sight. His playboy persona rubs her the wrong way.

Accustomed to every woman fawning over him, Lucas is drawn to the shy, uncompromising single mom and completely melts at the sight of Ella. He is determined to convince Jane that sometimes a second chance can mend a broken heart. —-

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Me Tarzan—You Jane by Camelia Miron Skiba is a modern day story of a plain Jane who falls for the movie star. Jane Sullivan’s job as a makeup artist puts her in the crosshairs of Lucas Oliver, cover model extraordinaire. As a widowed single mother she’s only looking for anything other than to take care of her four year old, not worry about a model who strikes her as a playboy.

I enjoyed reading about Lucas and Jane, two very different people that shouldn’t have fit together. I must admit I prejudged Lucas as well, because he seemed like a bit of a playboy, but he was able to redeem himself. He was able to show his willingness to do the right thing, even if it killed him, and I respected him for it. He was able to move Jane past the wall she had formed following her husband’s death, and his interaction with Ella, Jane’s daughter, were priceless. I could not imagine being put in Jane’s position, but I admired her tenacity and fortitude despite everything going on. There were some parts that I felt could have been flushed out, but don’t let that deter from the great book. All in all, Ms. Skiba was able to weave her modern day fairytale with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting.

  1. Shannon,

Thanks so, so much for the kind review and for hosting my tour for Me Tarzan–You Jane on your blog. So glad you liked my “babies.” Ella was a delight to write from the first page. Such a cutie. As for Lucas he kind of drove me nuts with his arrogance mostly. But then… I saw the soft side of him, and who doesn’t like a handsome devil yet kind-hearted man, right?
Lots of sun and smiles from Arizona!
