Wanted: Willing, eager and able woman to take pictures in exotic locations.

Solo St. John, a wildlife photographer, is preparing for a trip to Alaska. Suddenly, Solo finds women of all sorts invading his privacy, his home, and his office-cooing nonsense words and blatantly throwing themselves at him. Solo doesn’t know why and he has no idea how to rid himself of the persistent women. He finally decides to beg a favor of his best buddy, Nyssa Harrington.

Nyssa has been in love with Solo for the past ten years, but knows he doesn’t return her feelings. Tired of being only a buddy, Nyssa decides to move on with her life- without Solo. If she gives in to one last favor, will Nyssa resist temptation? Or will she fall in love all over again?

Solo St. John and Nyssa Harrington have been friends for the past ten years.  Solo has gotten himself into jams and Nyssa was always there to help him dig himself out.  So when he’s suddenly overwhelmed with woman responding to an ad his grandfather placed in the paper, he calls on his good friend Nyssa to help.

The only problem is, Nyssa has had a crush on Solo and she’s finally decided to move on with her life and leave that crush behind by marrying Robert.  When Solo comes crashing back into Nyssa’s life hoping she’ll act as a shield and save him, he disregards what’s good for her in an attempt to take control over his own life.

As I read this book, I kept hoping there was going to be something redeeming about both characters. Nyssa continually allows Solo to walk all over her, while Solo never seems to think much of Nyssa because he always seems to demand she drop everything to help him out.  Unfortunately, I just never found anything that had me finally saying “ahh…that’s why they should be together”.

The marriage of convenience angle was even worse, leaving you slapping your head about just how much Nyssa was willing to give up and give in to Solo.  Not to mention the fact that you’re engaged to another man who you ran off on in the middle of the night.

While there may have been potential for a great read about two best friends who discover they love each other, in my opinion, this one fell short.
