One word. Stay. It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him. That was seventeen years ago. I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again. Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn't supposed to be there. I should've been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in. This time around, the tables are turned. It's my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don't know if we can repair what's already been broken...

Corinne Michaels has done it again.  If you’ve read any books by this author, that statement could probably be enough to have you running out to pick this book up.  It’s everything we’ve come to love in a Corinne Michaels, full of emotional gut-wrenching moments, smexiness, a few smiles and laughs and a HEA readers can get behind.  And it’s absolutely impossible to put down.

Presley ends up back in her hometown of Tennessee hoping to somehow rebuild her life for herself and her twin boys.  But going home means dealing with the distance she’s created between herself and her parents, brother and the whole reason she stayed away for seventeen years, her ex Zach.

Presley is dealt a pretty crappy hand in this book.  She’s been broken, both emotionally and financially, but she manages to crawl her way back home to her parents for the good of her sons, even if that’s something she absolutely didn’t want to do.  Given everything she went through to get to this point, I found myself immediately pulling for Presley.  I didn’t care if she found a man or not, I just wanted her and her boys to find a happiness that had been shattered.

But there is a romance to this story and it’s a great second chance romance.  Zach and Presley were high school sweethearts and a couple everyone predicted would be together forever.  One decision shattered their relationship and the direction of their lives.  But when Presley comes back home, she’s forced to face Zach and figure out a way to exist with him.  It isn’t easy for either of them.   Their coexistence requires them to address their past and figure out how they can exist in the future.  A different couple probably would have been broken by all of this, but Zach and Presley come through to their HEA is a much happier, stronger place than either of them had been in before.

SAY YOU’LL STAY is Corinne Micheals at her best.  You’ll cry with Presley, rage with her and swoon over sexy as hell cowboy, Zach.  This is a book that is nearly impossible to put down and will leave you with a serious book hangover when you finally make it to the last page.  This is absolute book heaven.

EXCERPT:

“Hey.” Zach peers at me as I shake off my thoughts. “I figured you’d be asleep.” He climbs the steps slowly as I get to my feet.

“I figured you’d be gone.”

I walk toward him, unsure of why he’s here. “I left for a bit, but wanted to come check on you.”

“Oh.”

He snickers. “I couldn’t sleep.”

“Me either.” He’s close enough that I can smell his cologne. Even after a long night, being in the woods, he smells like home.

I take another step.

Then another.

I’m so close I have to tilt my head to look into his eyes.

I breathe him in, feel his heat, and I can’t stop myself. I want him. I need him. I grip his neck and yank his mouth to mine. I kiss him. I kiss him and give in to everything I’ve been feeling. He doesn’t waste a second. His arms wrap around me, holding my body against his. My fingers grip his neck, keeping him exactly where I need him. This kiss is frantic, but God it feels good.
