Meara Greymere is in charge of the cabin rentals on the rugged Oregon coastline, so her brother and his mate could take a delayed honeymoon. But while Hunter is away, the she-wolf intends to play—she just has to convince the right alpha male to rent one of the cabins, and she’ll take it from there. But when Finn Emerson arrives with every intention of pretending to be her lover, she’s not going to take this lying down. She knows he’ll tell her brother what she’s up to and put an end to her game.

Finn Emerson is a Navy SEAL, formerly one of Hunter Greymere’s team members, and now he’s trying to track down a gray wolf, who’s already made an attempt on one of their team member’s lives. Finn believes Hunter will be targeted next, only to discover Hunter is off with his mate on a honeymoon, and he fears Hunter’s sister is in grave danger. But the SEAL soon learns protecting the unpredictable sexy she-wolf is a mission and a half and protecting her isn’t all he wants to do.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Finn Emerson is a US Navy SEAL and a lupus garou, alpha male wolf shifter and best friend to Hunter Graymere who is the leader of the all wolf shifter SEAL team and alpha of his own pack.  Hunter is also the twin brother of Meara who is beautiful, alpha, and totally off limits. Hunter’s SEAL team is under attack by an assassin who has already shot one team member and Finn is going to make sure Meara is safe while Hunter is in Hawaii on his honeymoon.

Meara Graymere is the twin sister to the pack alpha and on the hunt for her own mate. She has two weeks while Hunter is away on his honeymoon in which to search without her over protective brother getting in the way. She has been left in charge of rental of the 5 cabins they have and has them rented to alpha wolf shifters she has screened by occupation and sex appeal. The last thing she needs is Finn Emerson her brothers friend and fellow SEAL showing up to put a dent in her plans.

Finn has always thought that Meara was sexy and smart, he also had been warned off, along with the rest of the team, by her twin brother the SEAL team leader. Meara thinks Finn is just the kind of alpha wolf she would love to have for a mate if he wasn’t always running off into dangerous situations  to save the world.  With Hunter, Meara’s over protective twin standing in the way for Finn and Finn being part of the all wolf SEAL team and Meara’s fear of losing her brother or Finn to their dangerous profession, standing in her way, what could possibly bring them together?

S’mores!

Finn works his way into Meara’s heart by showing her he isn’t going to take over her life or make her change who she is, he wins his first battle for her heart with a little chocolate in the form of s’mores on the beach.  Finn isn’t the settling down kinda guy especially with the twin sister of his SEAL team unit leader, but them more he is with Meara protecting her and learning more about this impulsive beauty the more he sees that she is the one woman he would settle down for.

While this is a stand alone book some knowledge from the previous books would be a really good idea when reading this one. It has a lot of action with assassins after them and trying to find out if they have a spy in there midst. It has a feisty impulsive heroine, a strong alpha male hero and quite a range of supporting characters that are well written and enjoyable to read. All that being said, at times I found myself lost because I had not read the prior books  and didn’t understand who someone was or what they had to do wit the story. I loved that the author was able to bring some spice to the book with some petting scenes (because once they actually have sex they are mated for life), It was overall a good read and I enjoyed the fast moving adventure and the sexual tension, I would suggest reading at least a few of the first 8 before this one just so you know who people are and why things are happening.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
