Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Along Came Trouble is the 2 book in the Camelot series, It can be read as a stand alone novel. The Camelot series follows the Clark siblings, the first in the series is the novella How To Misbehave.

Ellen’s home is her castle and since her friend and neighbor Carly hooked up with Ellen’s  celebrity brother Jamie Ellen has had to run off a few photographers.  Ellen is a single mom and a lawyer, she has grown into an independent woman who doesn’t need or want assistance and she doesn’t want anyone messing with her castle. To bad for her Jamie has hired Caleb Clark and his company Camelot Security to protect Carly and Ellen from all the photographers and potential threats that may be poised because of Jamie.

Caleb Clark, former MP and owner of the new security company Camelot Security, needs this job to make sure he continues to get contracts from the larger nationwide company Breckenridge.  His job should be simple protect his long time friend Carly and her neighbor Ellen from the paparazzi that are around because Carly had a fling with Jamie.  Caleb never planned on Ellen refusing his assistance and  getting him all hot and bothered at the same time.

Ruthie Knox writes a funny, sex and completely heart warming story with wonderful characters that are extremely well developed and a story you can dive into and be a part of. In Along Came Trouble we get the story of Ellen and Caleb as well as a side story about Ellen’s brother Jamie and her neighbor Carly. It is engaging, at times emotional, sexy as hell and more often than not laugh out loud funny.

With as much background and family interaction in this book it would be easy if not well written to get lost in all the side stories, but that doesn’t happen here. Ms. Knox is able to wind the story through family and secondary relationships between other characters and still you are able to follow along and understand as well as fall in love with Caleb and Ellen. We come to understand the reasons for the defensiveness of Ellen and her need for control in her home and her life. We are able to be a part of Caleb and his need to protect Ellen and at the same time preserve her independence.

Fantastic Read, looking forward to the rest of the series.
