Sierra Wallace hates Ian Raeder for making her teenage years a misery with his mockery and constant teasing. But he’s so damn hot! Just the sight of him turns her insides to molten lava. Ian’s hunger for Sierra is driving him insane. But he’s a Shifter, a leopard in his other form, and she’s human. He has to stay away from her.

When enemy Shifters invade Wade County, Colorado, Sierra and Ian are caught in the crossfire. As they fight to keep each other alive in a war that threatens to destroy every Shifter in the county, barriers tumble. The driving force of their long-suppressed passion explodes into sheet-scorching animal lust. In the torrid nights that follow, they discover that their firestorm of love and desire is far more devastating to them than any war.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Sierra Wallace has come home to Castleton in Wade County, Colorado. After leaving six years ago to develop her pottery and to get away from HIM! Ian Reader has teased and tormented Sierra from the time she moved to Castleton when she was 14. She hates Ian. Now if she could just stop wanting him.

Ian Reader, leopard shifter, has been told his entire life to stay away from humans. His father had drilled into his head, stick to your own kind, humans are out of bounds. He had plenty of willing partners, why can’t he get Sierra, his mouse with fangs, out of his head.

Ian and Sierra have bantered with each other from the time she moved to Castleton. She has been in love with him from the time they met but with his constant teasing she has learned to hate him as well. Ian just wants to bring his mouse out of her shell, and the only way he knows to do it is to torment her into exploding. When Sierra returns home after the death of her mother and starts her pottery career Ian wants her bad, but knows that he is a shifter and she will never accept that. After a new shifter in town (or in this dimension I should say) stars to attack shifters , trying to take over the area for himself, Ian is wounded and lands on Sierra’s doorstep. When Sierra helps the wounded Ian she finds out he is a whole lot more than she thought he was, he is a leopard.

I loved this new sort of sci-fi take on how shifters came to be here on Earth. In Driving Force, shifters are outcasts from another dimension, they had been tossed through a gate and left to make there own way here. That was many centuries ago and a gate hasn’t opened for hundreds of years. That is until now. Arrhan has found a mage to open a gate so he can take over the pride of lion shifters here in Wade County.

This book has a great love story of Sierra and Ian, who have to get past the hurts of childhood and the difference in who and what they are. It has a plethora of steamy sex scenes throughout the book. This book also has great action scenes, an original take on shifters, a bad guy who is truly evil, as well as magic, mystery and mayhem.

I read this book in one sitting, it was compelling as well as take a cold shower steamy.

I give it 4 out of 5 cocktails.
