Maggie Windham, oldest of the Windham sisters and a by-blow from His Grace’s pre-marital wild oats, finds herself in desperate needs of an investigator to help her retrieve a missing reticule. Benjamin Hazlit knows the Windham family secrets, and can be trusted to keep them to himself, so Maggie turns to Benjamin, though it means ignoring his too-broad shoulders, his too-knowing smile… and his too-skilled kisses.

As Benjamin starts the search for Maggie’s missing purse, he realizes two things: First, whatever was in that purse, its loss has Maggie not just rattled, but terrified. Second, Benjamin will go to any lengths to see Maggie’s peace of mind restored, even if it means he must keep himself in very close proximity to the shy, secretive lady who says she wants nothing to do with him.

Maggie, the oldest of the Windham Children at thirty. Maggie is also a wiz at finances, loves to dabble with different investments.

Benjamin a private detective. Who is really good at finding info about people by becoming pretty much invisible while in the crowd.

Maggie hires Benjamin to find a purse that came up missing. Not really caring about the purse but what is inside of it. Maggie isn’t willing to let Benjamin know why it is so important that she gets it back. Benjamin at first is very reluctant to help her. Then he decides that she must be in some kind of trouble, and is needing more help then she is willing to admit to anyone. Maggie and Benjamin start a very rocky relationship both having serious trust issues. Slowly the grow to trust reach other, after that their relationship becomes more serious. They both start realizing how deep their feeling go for the other.

The way the sex scenes were written, were not only hot and steamy but also sweet and tender. There was just a chemistry bouncing off the main characters that i felt dragged me more into the story.

I Loved the  interactions between all of the characters. Specially between Maggie and her family. The way they all pulled together and the way they tried to protect their own and not let outside forces take down each other.  I loved how in the end everyone seemed closer, after they  all talked and realized that they all were trying to protect each other from the same thing. I really enjoyed Lady Maggie’s Secret Scandal, and it is now one of my top ten favorite books!

I give Lady Maggie’s Secret Scandal Five cocktails.
