Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Carrie is a shy university English major who picks up a job working fast food at Betta Burger. Steve, the nephew of the owner is her boss. He is just plain mean or as Carrie’s co-worker call him “”a total wanker””.  Carrie is used to abuse however, after her mum died her dad called her fatty so often she all but forgot her real name.  She used school to escape her dad and she has Jamie stepping in to defend her at work.

Jamie is a business major at the university only because he father wont pay for him to go otherwise, he is also the senior manager at Betta Burger and when he sees Carrie being abused by Steve he leaps to her defense. Jamie can’t believe someone as beautiful as Carrie has such low self esteem. Jamie is an artist and wants to paint Carrie, in the nude.

Once Jamie is able to get past Carrie’s shyness and starts to make her understand that he finds her beautiful she allows him to paint her. Carrie and Jamie also fall into a passionate love affair. Carrie a natural submissive has always had fantasies of being dominated, finds that Jamie is a dominant at heart. Together they explore the kinkier side of their relationship.  The problems with Steve at work rear their ugly head again, will Carrie be able to believe in her self enough to trust her relationship with Jamie?

This is a Novella at approximately 80 pages. It is a Cinderella kind of story where an abused girl with no self esteem finds her prince charming and he makes her realize how beautiful she really is. The story is good if not heavy in the back story detail. With the novella being so short the time frame is compressed and so there is some suspension of belief in how quickly things happen between Jamie and Carrie.  There are plenty of sex scenes with some light D/s. It is an enjoyable quick read.

I give it 3 of 5 cocktails.
