With her pale hair and slim figure, Olivia Donovan looks as fragile as fine china, and has been treated as such by her sisters ever since a childhood bout with malaria. But beneath her delicate facade, Olivia guards a bold, independent spirit and the kind of passionate desires proper young ladies must never confess…

It was a reckless wager, and one Max couldn’t resist: seduce the alluring Olivia or forfeit part of his fortune. Yet the wild, soon-to-be Duke never imagined he’d fall in love with this innocent beauty. Nor could he have guessed that a dangerously unpredictable rival would set out to destroy them both. Now, Max must beat a Madman at his own twisted game-or forever lose the only woman to have ever won his heart.

Olivia, a young woman who loves her family unconditionally. After contracting Malaria as a child, her family is concerned with her healthy. They worry and try to keep her from being too active. Olivia on the other hand thrives on being active, she loves the outdoors.

Max a wealthy heir to a dukedom. Max fears becoming like is father an abusive husband and emotionally distant. Max is instantly attracted to Olivia. And makes a bet with one of his peers that Olivia would succumb to his charms.

You can feel the attraction between Olivia and Max almost instantly. In Max, Olivia finds someone that shares her passion for the outdoors. Olivia, triggers emotions in Max that he didn’t even know he had.  When Olivia fell ill with fever Max could barely stand being away from her.  The way Max and Olivia interacted with each other it seemed like they were made for each other.  The sex scenes were steamy and intense.

Olivia’s sisters and brother in laws were awesome. I could feel their love for Olivia and their need to protect her. I really enjoyed all four sisters bond. Their closeness was amazing it made me miss being near my own sisters.

The descriptions in Secrets of an Accidental duchess were amazing. I felt sucked into the story. I found myself cheering when everything was going Max and Olivia’s way. And when it wasn’t going their way I found myself waiting till it straightened itself out. I will have to say I have found a new favorite book.
