Reviewer’s Thoughts:

Sylvain Marquis knows exactly how to entice a woman, learning early on how to make them melt. Coming from a background of nothing and building up to be the number one Chocolatier in Paris, his success in business and with women is well deserved. However, even chocolate cannot show him the way to a woman’s heart, that is until Cade Corey walks into his life. Now it is up to Sylvain to show the deeper, richer side of his heart, to open the door he closed so many years ago, and to show Cade he has so much more to give her than chocolate.

Cade Corey of Corey Bars has been around chocolate all of her life. The sweet bit of heaven to a woman’s senses is a passion for her, but once you bite into Sylvain Marquis chocolate, nothing will compare. After convincing her father that Cade has decided to try her hand at taking Europe, she sets out to find the hands that have been playing in her mind for so long. Those hands that sit as a backdrop to her everyday life of business and that have Cade wishing she was the chocolate, melting in his hands. But now that she has caught his attention, she must find the courage to choose between the life she was born into or the life she is longing to have.

I really love the similarities between these two characters. Both of them come off as prideful and strong, all the while battling their past. Here you have Sylvain who has mastered the ability to seduce a woman using his talent with chocolate but could never find the way to their heart. After meeting Cade he begins to fall but all of those fears from his past come out, the ones that have Sylvain asking if Cade is after his heart or his chocolate. Then you have Cade, who has spent her life working for her father and building a fortune. Although she realizes she is good at it, she wants more, someone who shares her passion and has the ability to show her more than she ever dreamed. But, for all that he gives her and all that she steels she can’t seem to bring herself to let go of responsibility and give away her heart.

This book makes for a beautiful story of love, romance, fear, and passion. Two people who share the same wants and needs finding a way to let go of their fears and melt into each other.
