Cocktails and Books received this book for free from Wildfire Marketing in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.

This was such a fun read!
Teacher I Want to Date is the follow up to Boss I Love to Hate and focuses on the youngest Brisken brother, Mason. (Don’t worry, if you haven’t read Boss, this really is a stand-alone)

Mason is a unique hero – he’s a little OCD and anal about certain things and very protective when it comes to his family. He has a couple of cringe worthy moments, but they just make him that much more relatable because they show that his priorities are taking care of the people he loves.

Mason’s love interest in the book, Gabby, is a teacher at his niece’s school. This (paired with over protective Mason) sets up one of the funniest and most awkward meet cutes I think I’ve ever seen. Gabby is a character that I liked. She comes with her own baggage, but I liked how she was willing to put herself out there again.

Gabby and Mason have a story that is truly entertaining and sweet. They are a case of opposites attracting and bringing the best out in each other – even though their road wasn’t always smooth. Ms Kayla did an excellent job of showing us how Gabby helped Mason loosen up just a little and how he helped Gabby feel safe and taken care of.

The secondary cast of Teacher I Want to Date is relatively small, primarily featuring both Mason and Gabby’s families. Some of the best scenes include these family members and I loved how some of the best advice comes from the youngest characters. After reading both Boss I Love to Hate and Teacher I Want to Date, I hope Ms Kayla goes back and tells us the story behind Charles (the oldest Brisken brother) finding his happily ever after.

Meet Mia Kayla
Mia Kayla is a USA Today Bestselling Romance writer who lives in Illinois. She is the wife to the husband of the year, and mommy to three unbelievably cute little girls who have multiplied her grey hairs.
In her free time she loves reading romance novels, jamming to boy bands, catching up on celebrity gossip and designing flowers for weddings.
Most of the time, she can be caught on the train with her nose in a book sporting a cheeky grin because the main characters finally get their happily-ever-after at the end.
She loves reading about happy endings but has more fun writing them.

I am a full time mom who works part time. I squeeze reading in wherever I can between work, volunteer stuff, and kid activities. I read a little bit of everything, but really enjoy indie authors and Happy- Ever-Afters. I've been reviewing for Cocktails and Books since January 2015.
