"Love! That's the four letter word to describe how I felt about this unique, sexy story. J. Daniels' hottest book to date."---Penelope Ward, New York Times bestselling author
Fate. Hate. Love. Lies.Which four letter word will change their lives forever?
Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart, but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.
Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate-until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .

To say that I loved this book would be an understatement, I loved, loved, loved this book from beginning to end.    I am so glad I found it.

Sydney has just been told by her husband that he no longer wants to be married to her, picking herself up she leaves and moves in with her best friend Tori who also is going through a breakup.  Sydney, wanting to get back at the man who broke Tori’s heart she calls the jerk to give him a piece of her mind, the only problem is that she called the wrong number and yelled at a total stranger.  Who by the way found the whole thing rather funny and quite memorable, so memorable he decides to text her the next day and from there a friendship starts.

Brian has had a rough time as well over the last few months, so when a spunky girl calls him out of the blue he is amazed on how much he wants to get to know her.  For now he has to keep her at arms length, but as feelings start to grow it becomes harder and harder to do so – Brian knows that if he brings Sydney into his life he could lose her and he can’t risk it especially since he is falling hard for the wild girl on the other end of his phone.

This is my first book written by J Daniels and I was impressed so much with her writing style.  One of the things I loved was that there was zero pretense between Brian and Sydney, they were honest about their feelings for one another and definitely had their hearts on their sleeves throughout the book.  I have seen this go south very quickly when writers are overly sweet with the sentiment to the point where as the reader it’s too much and too unrealistic – not in this case at all.  Ms. Daniels does a fantastic job finding balance and not overdoing it with Brian and Sydney and their feelings.  This being said there are secrets with our characters as well;  told in dual POV’s you get to see the growth of the two characters and the struggle for one but she doesn’t give anything away to early; as the reader, you find out the secrets at the same time as the other character.   Again a great balance.    There are also a few subplots with the secondary characters that are touched on and I am so happy that there will be a book coming soon for Brian and Sydney’s best friends Tori and Jamie – I loved them in the book and I am looking forward to their story.

If you are looking for a great book to take you into fall (hot chocolate and a Christmas quilt are a must) I highly recommend 4 Letter Word.  You won’t be disappointed.
