From the New York Times bestselling author of the Pucked series comes a romantic comedy about instant attraction, second chances, and not-so-little white lies.

Sometimes I need an escape from the demands, the puck bunnies, and the notoriety that come with being an NHL team captain. I just want to be a normal guy for a few weeks. So when I leave Chicago for some peace and quiet, the last thing I expect is for a gorgeous woman to literally fall into my lap on a flight to Alaska. Even better, she has absolutely no idea who I am.

Lainey is the perfect escape from my life. My plan for seclusion becomes a monthlong sex fest punctuated with domestic bliss. But it ends just as abruptly as it began. When I’m called away on a family emergency, I realize too late that I have no way to contact Lainey.

A year later, a chance encounter throws Lainey and me together again. But I still have a lie hanging over my head, and Lainey’s keeping secrets of her own. With more than lust at stake, the truth may be our game changer.

Cocktails and Books received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.

I loved everything about this delightful, second chance romance. This heartwarming story centers around a hot professional hockey player and a geeky girl.  These two characters are genuine, easy to relate to and stole my heart.

This is the first book in the new All In series and I can’t wait to read more.  I was happily surprised to find some of the characters from the Pucked series were included in this story and it was fun catching up with them.

Lainey and Rook meet when they are both vacationing in Alaska. Lainey is in Alaska to work on her thesis. She is sweet, uncomfortable in most social situations and doesn’t have a lot of confidence.

Rook is a good guy, but he has made some mistakes in his life and with Lainey. I love that he never gives up. Once he meets Lainey, he knows she is the one and he never forgets her and doesn’t give up trying to woo her back.  Rook is sexy, charming, and genuine. He is grounded, even though he is a famous, good looking pro athlete. Rook is used to having women falling all over him and he finds Lainey refreshing and he is attracted to everything about her. Lainey is shy and doesn’t know who Rook is. She likes Rook for himself, not for his celebrity or money.

I loved the characters.  They are meant to be together and bring out the best in each other. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down and was sad when it ended.
