Margaret lost everything and everyone in a terrible accident as a child, except for a younger cousin. She took care of this boy and does everything she can to protect him, including committing a crime that could put her in a Federal Pen.

Now the man who catches her—a man she knows and hates—owns her for five years. But she will do anything to protect her cousin, including joining a different world that circles around a blue whip.

Margaret works at a job she is good at and seems to enjoy.  She lost everything except her cousin, Mike, so she takes great pains to care for him.  She will do anything she can to protect him.  They are so close they are almost brother and sister.  When Mike gets into trouble she covers for him that leads her to commit a crime that could land her in the federal pen for years.

Brad Kanter is the CEO for the business that employs Margaret.  He quickly realizes that Margaret is great at her job and also has great insight to people he does business with.  He also is infatuated with her, however he knows something happened to her as a child but he is not sure what, but he does want her almost desperately.   When he finds out what Margaret did to protect her cousin, he blackmails her.

Brad comes across as a good guy who is ruthless at business but when he blackmails Margaret he pushes the bounds of what can be called good.  While what he really wanted was a chance to explore the chemistry that is between them he really goes about it in the wrong way.   Margaret is not completely a victim here either.  She could have gone to her boss and asked for help.  I think he would have helped her get Mike out of trouble without resorting to covering up what was stolen.

I found this book well written with a unique plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating.  While the ending was a little predictable, the journey the book takes the reader is gripping with twists and turns that keep the reader entertained. I had a hard time putting this book down.  Overall, this was a wonderful book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
