Reviewer’s Thoughts

This is an interesting read with a unique view of body image from a man’s POV in the modeling industry. I had a difficult time accepting the validity of Kyle and Gretchen’s relationship because they each have their own agendas for spending time together and I felt they were using each other rather than actually forming a relationship.

I was also very put off by the constant fat shaming from Zola, Gretchen’s mother. Yeah, I’m sure that happens a lot in the modeling industry but doing that to your own child? Fat shaming should never be acceptable and probably what upset me the most was that Gretchen didn’t stand up to her mother about it. These issues kept me from enjoying the story and I wasn’t able to appreciate the love Kyle and Gretchen found at the end of the book.

I am a lover of alpha males with dirty mouths, strong heroines putting alpha males in their place, and the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm a proud hockey mom who can often be found at the hockey rink cheering on my favorite forward, with my kindle close by.
