Her book club's been reading BDSM fiction. It's piqued her curiosity enough to make her want to brave a local munch and try things with her husband. Mike loves Jenny and would do anything for her. But memories of the abuse his mom suffered haunt him, and he refuses to be "that" man. When Jenny tells Mike she wants them to try BDSM, he attempts to keep an open mind despite his personal issues about it. While meeting people from the local community, Mike makes an effort to give Jenny what she needs despite his desires warring with his conscience. Once his shock and surprise wear off over who he discovers is involved in the alternative lifestyle, Jenny and Mike start forging a new path. But will that journey lead them apart, or bring them closer together? ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Victoria’s Thoughts

A Roll of the Dice is the ninth book in the Suncoast Society series by Tymber Dalton.Β  While you can read this book as a standalone novel, to best understand all the secondary characters I think it’s best to read the other books in the series.

Jenny has been married to her husband Mike for twenty five years, and for the last eighteen or so they have been raising their son Mikey.Β  Mikey and all his activities has been the main focus of their lives but now that Mikey is away at college, Jenny and Mike have a chance to get to know each other all over again.

Jenny desires for a more spice and kink in the bedroom and inability to explain it to her husband comes across as true to life.Β  Mike’s struggle not just to please his wife but also come to grips that BDSM is not abuse comes across as genuine.Β  It was nice to see his side and understand his reasons for not wanting anything to do with BDSM.Β  The biggest point in this book that was emphases over and over again was to communicate with your partner on what you want and don’t want.

I found this book well written with a realistic plot. I enjoyed how the author incorporated romance, the importance of communication, BDSM together in a realistic and believable way. The main characters and the secondary characters were interesting and very true to life.Β  I enjoyed all the twists and turns Jenny and Mike went through as they explored BDSM together. Β I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
