A standalone erotic short story from the author of THE PLEASURES OF WINTER, featuring Abbie Marshall and Jack Winter

A surprise anniversary trip to see her Dom turns into a nightmare for Abbie Marshall. She arrives at his home a day early and finds him with another woman. Devastated by his betrayal, Abbie does what she always does when she gets into emotional trouble – she runs like hell.

But Hollywood actor, Jack Winter, has no intention of setting his sweet submissive free. He loves Abbie, and sets out to convince her that they have a future together the only way he knows – by sensual domination. During a passion filled night, Abbie is exposed to the full force of Jack’s erotic arsenal. Despite his apparent infidelity, Winter’s touch has scorched a brand on her soul.

One that she’s not sure she can forget.

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

WARNING…Only read this short story if you’ve read The Pleasures of Winter.

Abbie returns home from an overseas assignment to find Jack in his playroom with another woman…his ex-sub, Paloma.  Hurt and furious, she leaves Jack after destroying his favorite statue and tossing his anniversary present at his head.  Jack, both excited and confused about what just happens, must chance after Abbie and prove to her once and for all that she’s it for him.

As with The Pleasures of Winter, we have Abbie running off without confronting Jack and getting all the facts.  Sure, what she saw looked bad, but she never stopped to ask those second and third level questions that the reporter in her should have been dying to ask.  Jack, of course, runs after her and uses sex to prove to teach Abbie a lesson.  But what we finally get out of this is Jack and Abbie being honest with each other.  It’s amazing what a couple will discover if they stopped and talked to each other once and a while.

It was nice to see the relationship with Jack and Abbie was still going strong after The Pleasures of Winter, but what really made this short story was the fact they were finally able to take that next step and get all their insecurities out of the way.

A decent quick read that gave us a little more insight to Jack and Abbie.  I enjoyed it and hope we get to see more of them in the future.
