Victoria’s Thoughts
Harper is running from her past bent on not deal with the lasting effects of what the Sculptor left her. She is closed off and not looking for a relationship at all. Harper is an artist who is very good at what she does. She tries almost desperately keep out of the spotlight no matter who much people want her to do.
Evan Hawthorne is a man who gets what he wants and he wants Harper. He is bent getting to know her and the more she tries to pull from him the more he wants to know her. There are times that Evan comes across almost stalker like with his intent to pursue her.
The connection between Evan and Harper is intense. Evan tries very hard to break Harper out of her shell as much as Harper tries not to fall for Evan. This book had a great balance of mystery and romance. The sex scenes were scorching.
Another Brush Stroke is the first book in The Carnal Exhibitions series by L. W. Barefoot. I found this book well written with a unique plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were mesmerizing. This book ends with a cliffhanger so those not fond of them keep this in mind. Overall, this was a great book and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
