Before you get down on bended knee…
…you should be pretty darn sure the answer will be yes. For ten years, Connor O'Rourke has been waiting for Jessica Dunn to take their on-again, off-again relationship public, and he thinks the time has come. His restaurant is thriving, she's got her dream job at Blue Heron Vineyard—it's the perfect time to get married.
When he pops the question, however, her answer is a fond but firm no. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Jess has her hands full with her younger brother, who's now living with her full-time, and a great career after years of waitressing. What she and Connor have is perfect: friends with an excellent benefits package. Besides, with her difficult past (and reputation), she's positive married life isn't for her.
But this time, Connor says it's all or nothing. If she doesn't want to marry him, he'll find someone who does. Easier said than done, given that he's never loved anyone but her. And maybe Jessica isn't quite as sure as she thinks…

If you’re looking for an unbiased opinion on a Kristin Higgins book, look….elsewhere. In my eyes, Higgins can do no wrong. I love all of her books—they are always witty, touching, interesting and Anything for You is no exception. It helps that all of her books contain loveable dogs and, of late, a lot of food talk!

In Anything for You, readers are again taken to Manningsport—home of O’Rourke’s Tavern, Blue Heron Winery and all the characters we love. Higgins makes readers feel right at home, sitting in O’Rourke’s with the regulars, admiring the views at Blue Heron….ahhhh, to be in upstate New York amidst the fall foliage!  I love that the reader can picture it all and practically taste the delicious food that is described.

Readers feel like they know the characters—thanks to thoughtful descriptions by Higgins. I have always loved Conner and am glad he got his story. Jessica is a tough nut to crack, but I grew to like her. I felt so deeply for her and her brother, Davey, and their struggles. Theirs was a realistic portrayal of how dysfunction in families continues to affect people well into adulthood. Thankfully, everyone comes around and through forgiveness and a focus on the future, I got my happy ending!

Thank you, Kristin Higgins for another winner. You had me cracking up one minute and crying the next. I was sad to see it end.
