Naasir’s story is one that I know I looked forward to, and it didn’t disappoint in this strong addition to the series. Definitely more enjoyable if you’ve been a follower of this now eight book series, by what in my opinion is one of the best Urban Fantasy/Paranormal authors out there.
Naasir is a unique character in this world, he’s not an angel, he’s not a vampire, he’s a class all of his own with his own traits, and I liked his uniqueness best of all. He’s been tasked with spying on Lijuan, an archangel who is pretty scary powerful. Lijuan is hunting for a sleeping ancient angel, and Naasir is told to stop her.
Enter Andromeda, the scholar who is tasked to help Naasir find the ancient angel before the big bad, it’s a fun plot, the geek paired with the jock to simplify. To make things even more interesting, Andromeda has taken a vow of chastity, so the tension is a big high, though I could have done without some of her waffling on being his mate.
I loved finding out Naasir’s back story, and I enjoyed that Andromeda had her own convictions and could handle herself without needing to be saved. Overall, I enjoyed these two together as they dodge the bad guys and complete their mission.
Like I said in the beginning, this is a strong installment, best read by those who’ve read the others. I enjoyed the world building, seeing characters I loved, seeing characters I’m sure to love when they finally get their stories, and enjoyed another strong plot with a good pace, that kept me reading until the very end.
