Review: Byrd’s Desire by Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy

When Cajun gal Celia Lecompte leaves Louisiana for her cousin’s ranch in Oklahoma, she wants nothing more than to put her past behind her and plan for the future. She’s sworn off men so romance isn’t in the picture. When her cousin warns her to watch out for the Thunderbird, a mythical creature, she’s sure Angelique is joking until she catches a glimpse of something she can’t explain.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

This book showed a lot of promise, but the story wasn’t believable to me and lacked any sort of romance. The transitions weren’t smooth and I quickly lost interest in the story. The sex scenes were awkward and the heroine used several names for her lady parts, including t*at and c*nt which were complete turn offs for me. And the hero hardly got any page time which was very disappointing.

I loved the concept and really didn’t want to say anything unflattering but these were some issues I just couldn’t over look. The author does show a lot of potential, but I felt it was overshadowed by the issues I previously mentioned making it difficult to enjoy the story and to give it a higher rating.
