17569860Meeting Jett was like bad luck. Dangerous. Unpredictable. And better avoided. In his game, the stakes are high. But are they worth the risk?

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, finds forgetting is hard, but forgiving is harder. When the man she trusted, betrayed her, the only way to forget is to move on. Brooke is determined to start a new life, until she meets him again: the green-eyed, sexy as sin, six foot two sex god. The man who played dirty. The man who played her.

Sexy, rich, and arrogant Jett Mayfield knows he has made mistakes. He could have any other woman, and yet it’s Brooke he wants. When second chances collide with secrets and Brooke is threatened by the past, Jett is determined to protect her. She accepts his help unwillingly because she needs him but she wants to play his game on her own terms. And she has no intention to forgive or let him back into her bed.

When the man she is supposed to hate is the one she should trust, will he conquer her…or lose her forever?

A woman who can’t forgive.
A man who has made mistakes.
Two lives that are about to cross again and more secrets laid bare.

Reviewer’s Thoughts

When I finished SURRENDER TO LOVE, I wondered how JC Reed was going to possibly redeem Jett.  He’d completely used Brooke and she rightly told him to go to hell.  But Jett manages to redeem himself and explain what he was doing to Brooke’s satisfaction.  At the same time, he alerts Brooke to just what is going on with the estate that she stands to inherit and vows to protect her.

We learn quite a bit about Jett in this book.  In SURRENDER TO LOVE it was Brooke who shared quite a bit of her past but Jett remained a mystery.  It was nice to see that this reformed bad boy talk to Brooke and share show he was and how he got there.  It forced their relationship to be more about the two of them as people and less about hot sex (although they did have that).

The mystery surrounding the Luccazone mansion is threaded throughout the story, but I wanted more information.  What exactly has been going on there?  Who’s involved? We get hints, but nothing that really moves that part of the storyline along.  I’m hoping as we move into the next book, we more information and just how involved Jett’s father is in all of this.

I liked this one, even with a cliffhangerish ending.  I like how Jett was redeemed and how he would do anything to protect the woman he loves. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
