Artist Dakota Larson is given an ancient portrait, and when she gets it home she realizes the canvas depicts an erotic scene that sends her hormones into overdrive. The painting draws her into a mysterious alternate universe where kingdoms are at war, and two charismatic princes choose her as a sex slave.

Kelton and Bramwell are two princes of an elite ruling class descended from one of Ashdown’s true kings. They use the magick of the erotic paintings discovered centuries ago to lure women into their world for their unique sexual perversions. But as they take what is their birthright from Dakota, the men lose their hearts to her in the process.

When a sorcerer is able to help Ashdown defeat their enemies, and discovers that Dakota may be able to return home, Dakota is faced with a difficult decision. Go back to her own world, or stay with the two men who have come to love her?

Five stars for Tara Rose!!

In the latest (and final) installment of the “Portraits of Submission” series, we are treated to three wonderful new characters, some sexy love scenes with BDSM elements (that aren’t overwhelming, but very spanky, paddly, and awesome), and a satisfying ending that ties everything up nicely.

“Dakota’s Discipline” focuses on Dakota (of course).  She’s an artist who makes a living by designing covers for romance novels and is given a painting by her friends who own the art supply store she frequents.  Realizing that the frame is made of ashwood, that is known for its magick, she also sees something very special that nobody else can.  When she takes it home, she finds herself falling through a portal into a parallel universe.  There, she meets, and is chosen by, two handsome princes, Kelton and Bramwell (and how much do I love those names?).  Basically, it’s their birthright to claim a woman who comes from the other side.  She, in essance, becomes their sex slave.  Don’t let that turn you off, though, because it’s not like she’s captive and abused.  Far from it.  She’s treated like a princess.  It’s just that she can never be with anyone else, and she can’t go home again.

There is an instant chemistry between the three, and I really liked the fact that Dakota was a firm believer in the paranormal, so she wasn’t necessarily alarmed by what happened.  Concerned, maybe, but not alarmed.  Kelton and Bramwell are taken with Dakota right away, and she wants them as well.  That’s when everything starts to really get rolling.  There are some secrets, some intrigue, friendships formed, and really nifty plots turns.

It’s exciting to read.

That’s about as far as I’m willing to go in giving away the plot.  You should definitely read it for yourself.  I’ve really enjoyed this series.  I loved everything about it…the characters, the paranormal aspects, the mysteries, the sex, and even the way the four books are in alphabetical order

🙂  As I mentioned, this is the fourth book in the series.  It starts with “Abigail’s Acquiescence”, moves to “Brenna’s Bondage”, “Chelsea’s Chastisement”, and finally “Dakota’s Discipline”.  I suppose this could be read as a stand alone because there is a good bit of exposition, but I honestly recommend that you start from the beginning so you can grasp the whole, sweeping concept.  The stories are unique and original and bring a fresh look at the whole “Handsome Prince” idea.  I can’t sing their praises enough.  Definitely pick them up!

About Tara Rose

Tara Rose loves to write about small towns and the quirky people that inhabit them. You’ll find engaging characters, budding romance, intrigue and plenty of hot steamy ménage sex within the pages of her books. You never really know what goes on behind closed doors, but her books will take you there, and leave you panting for more.

When she isn’t writing, Tara spends time with her husband—her real-life hero. She loves to cook, collect antique pottery, and she will read just about anything. Tara also plays the cello, and loves decorating her house for Christmas.
