Reviewer’s Thoughts

Erin Leaf continues to amaze me.  I’ve read quite a bit of her work by now, but I never seem to grow tired of it.  All of her stories capture me and hold me tight until they end, and truthfully, I don’t ever really want them to end.  All of her plots and characters are well thought out, and very well written.  They have adventure, action, and lots of sex and romance.  If you as me, that’s the perfect combination for a perfect book.

“Damaged” has all of those qualifications and then some.  The heroine, Cori, is angry and determined to get away from the slave trader who captured her and sold her into the life of a sex slave on a distant planet. Our heroes are strong, protective men who are not only fierce in battle, but also in their love for Cori.  They’re lovers, and they want her to be “blood mates” alongside them.  Boy, does that make my heart pound a little faster!  Cori, Reiyn, and Kyuk have wonderful chemistry.  The book isn’t very long, so their union happens rather quickly.  It doesn’t feel rushed in any way, though.  The plot of the story alone sort of demands it, actually.  Their bonding, and eventual love for each other, is sweet and sexy.  Very sexy!

As I said, Erin Leaf stories have lots of action.  There are battles, explosions, and rescues, and they’re woven together very nicely.  It’s all necessary for the plot to move forward.  As I was reading it, I was able to visualize all of it.  All of the details, right down to what the ship’s bridge were provided but not overwhelming.  I KNEW what the characters looked like.  I KNEW what the planet had become after all of the devastation.  It seems that “Damaged” read like a movie, but not a boring screenplay.

I highly recommend this book.  Erin Leaf is an incredible writer.  I count myself as a HUGE fan.  I enjoyed this so much, and I think you will to.  READ IT!
