Review: David’s Angel by Stephanie Beck

Reviewer’s Thoughts

Polly’s husband/Dom of ten years dies after battling a long illness. Mark hand-picked Polly’s next Dom, David. The man who has loved Polly from afar for over ten years. David was willing to uproot his life and move to where Polly lived to help her and to have a chance with her as well. Polly does a good job of balancing life and children with her bedroom activities.

David is a mystery. He came to help Polly at the request of his late best friend and Polly’s dead husband to make a life with her or help her find a new Dom whichever she would rather do. David is perfect for Polly to help her move on with her life. I did love that David embraced Mark’s memory rather than be jealous of it.

David’s Angel by Stephanie Beck is a great book; however, it moves way too fast in the beginning. I get that her husband handpicked a new Dom/husband for her before he passed away but I think she needed to stand on her own two feet for a longer time before remarrying. It comes across as more desperate than I think it was ever intended to be by the writer. It also makes me wonder about Mark and his choices to put up with Max and his buddies for the length of time they did.

The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic. While it did move at a fast pace it did come across as realistic. The chemistry between David and Polly is blistering and without that, this book would have fallen apart. Overall, this was a great book.
