Laura Griffin is one of my go to authors and I know I can count on her to write a well written suspenseful romance.  I have read all her books but my favorite is her Tracers series; if you haven’t read them yet, you should give them a try.  So I was excited to learn she has a new series revolving around an ultra-elite Seal team.  The first two books in her new Alpha Crew series are action packed, filled with intrigue and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.

EDGE OF SURRENDER is the second book in Laura Griffin’s new Alpha Crew series.  It continues with Ryan and Emma’s story. Ryan Owen is a big, tough, protective and he is willing to do anything to keep Emma Wright safe. He is the leader of the Alpha Crew And they are sent to rescue Emma, when the helicopter she is in crashes in the jungle. From the moment Ryan sees Emma, he is intrigued, frustrated and attracted to her.  Emma has learned she can’t trust anyone, until she meets Ryan. Protecting others is all Ryan knows and he doesn’t understand why Emma is constantly challenging him.  Ryan is all alpha male and he expects Emma to follow his orders so he can keep her safe, but Emma is independent and willful and has learned she can only rely on herself.  I liked Ryan and Emma together and there is a lot of chemistry sizzling between them. They both have independent spirits and are good together.

Ryan and the men he works with are a close knit group.  After working on dangerous missions and training together they have learned to trust each other completely and they know they can count on each other, whatever the circumstances.  I loved all the guys on the Alpha Crew and found them highly entertaining. I hope to read each of their stories in future books in this series.

The only problem I had with this story was the ending.  It felt abrupt and wasn’t satisfied.  Yes, there is

a HEA,

but I wanted more details on how Ryan and Emma work everything out. I still enjoyed these first two books in Laura Griffin’s new series and can’t wait to read more.  This is a great start to a new series.
