“What would you do if the sexiest man in the world was bent on bringing you unbearable pleasure again and again? Joy Hightower wasn’t sure she could survive the experience…or live without it.”

It’s not often you’re hired to paint a body tattoo—and what a body—on a total stranger at a Hollywood film set. A reserved and careful art teacher, Joy would never forget it. In a rare fit of raw desire she gave herself completely, knowing she’d never see him again, or ever repeat such a shameless, naked impulse.

Little did she know, the man with whom she shared that lightning bolt of lust was star Everett Hughes. For Everett, women and sex came as easily as fame. But how could he hope to convince the guarded Joy that beneath the hard body and sexy façade of celebrity was a real man who wanted only one, real woman?

In the heat of an intoxicating affair, Everett endeavors to break down her barriers, gain her trust, and expose himself as the real deal. But can Joy do the same, and reveal to him the vulnerable woman who longs to be loved, wanted, and desired forever?

Reviewer’s Thoughts:

I love Beth Kery (Bethany Kane) because she writes such emotional, erotic romance stories.  This story was no different.

Joy Hightower, art teacher, part time film make up artist and cancer survivor  knows what it feels like to watch someone you love be ravaged by cancer.   She vows to distance herself from anyone that might be hurt should her cancer come back.  That means leaving behind her uncle and the life she had in LA for Chicago, where she knows no one.  Despite having an uncle who would do anything for her, Joy is determined to ensure that those who love her don’t have to be put in the place she was when her mother died.  It’s a tough choice, because it’s very obvious how lonely she is.

Everett Hughes may be an A-list movie star, but he also a man who wants to have the love of a woman who see the man behind the movie sparkle and a family of his own.  When he first meets Joy, he knew she was a woman he wanted to get to know better.  But it takes fourteen months and a trip into a small Chicago eatery for him to finally get this chance with her.  While he senses the wall Joy throws up to protect herself, he knows she is the one he wants and he vows to break through her walls.

Joy and Everett’s romance is HAWT, but also sweet and at times heartbreaking.  Everett wears his heart on his sleeve for Joy.  He would do anything for her, but she makes it difficult with the rules and emotional walls she puts up.  One would almost think she has no faith in Everett, but it’s her not having faith in herself that makes her decisions when it comes to her relationship with Everett so heartbreaking.  In the end, Everett makes Joy understand that no matter what happens, you stick with the one you love.
