fooled aroundJade Augustine has grown up believing the lies that label her unsuitable for long-time crushes Liam Raleigh and Estevan Durante, even while both men have wanted to pursue a relationship with her. When the three are forced to ride out a hurricane in the safety of Liam’s house, play and sex soon turns to love.

But when the storm clears, reality tears apart their newfound love. Both men find themselves at odds with their own families, and with Jade’s bully of a brother, Santos, a Sybaris Cove police sergeant.

When Santos is trapped inside a storm drain at the ocean’s edge during a rescue attempt, Liam and Estevan join his rescue effort, despite the ancient curse that prevents the male Durantes and Raleighs from trying to leave the island.

Will they lose their own lives to save the man who is hell-bent on keeping them from being with the only woman they’ve ever loved?

Reviewer’s Thoughts

“Fooled Around and Fell in Love” is the latest installment of the “Doms of Sybaris Cove” series by Tara Rose.  These books tell the tales of the residents of the island of Sybaris Cove (obviously, hehe), including the descendants of four men who arrived and pretty much claimed it for themselves.  All of the stories
involve romance, a supernatural mystery, and really hot sex.  They’re simply awesome!

Jade is a dispatcher at the SC police station where her over protective brother is a cop.  Estevan is an artist who paints rooms in various locations to finance his art, and Liam is on the fast track to claim his birthright, a high up position at Phoebe’s Playthings, the largest sex toy distributor in the country.  All three are great characters who have chemistry to spare.  Both men have an attraction to Jade, and Jade reciprocates.  That very attraction
comes to a very heated few days at Liam’s house on the hill as a terrible storm pounds the island.  All three know that there will be consequences once the waters have receded, but they don’t seem to care.

Their menage relationship begins rather quickly here, but it just seems to work. Once a slow boil starts to roll, it can’t be stopped.  Their deep feelings for each other are perfectly clear within the first 15 or 20% of the book.  They talk out many misunderstandings that they had about each other, and then passion takes over.  Believe me, when I say passion, I really mean it.  It’s nuclear!  “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” is a BDSM story at its heart, so there are quite a few implements of pleasure/pain like floggers, paddles, leather spanking gloves, and dildos.  There is also an extremely explosive scene with hot wax and an ice cube that melted my panties.  It was amazing!

As with all of Tara Rose’s books, there is an ongoing mystery.  I’m not going to spoil it for you, but it’s a really interesting one.  There’s also some action that keeps you on the edge of your seat.  These are my second favorite things about Tara’s books (You can guess my FIRST favorite, I’m sure).  They’re
not simple, one track stories.  Love and sex?  Sure, but there’s an actual INTERESTING plot!  I’m such a fan, I could gush all day, and I’m telling you that you need to just give one of her novels a read, and you’ll become one as well.

As I mentioned, this is the third book in the DoSC series.  I suppose you could read it as a stand alone because there is some exposition, but I highly recommend that you read them from the beginning.  There’s even a free novella that you can read if you download the Siren/Bookstrand app.  I am anxiously awaiting the next one, and I’m excited to see what direction Tara takes with all future stories.
