I feel like I need to start this review with I absolutely adore Molly McAdams but I didn’t love this book. Not every book by a beloved author is for every reader and I See You wasn’t for me. I felt this book was overly angsty, the characters didn’t communicate, the jumping around time frame just did me in while reading. The plot starts when Aurora Wilde has a one night stand at a frat party with a guy named Jay. The one night is so remarkable that she looks for him the week after the alleged night but he is gone which he told her he would be leaving. Ten months later, she meets Declan and they are a couple. They are happy, living together and the one problem is Declan’s mother Linda. I hated Linda. On top of that, Jentry, Declan’s adopted brother is coming back from one of many tours with the Marines. OH NO….Jentry is Jay. Hence the major angst. Jentry is still hung up on Aurora and instead of clueing Declan in to what happened, we get a whole lot of unnecessary drama. Believe me, I have no issues with love triangles…I actually like them but I didn’t like these guys equally which is probably the reason this storyline didn’t work for me. I also mentioned the pacing of the book, I couldn’t figure out all the jumping around from past, 10 months ago, to the present. It was too much. I have no issue with backstory and developing the characters through different time frames, I just didn’t follow this storyline very easily. Anyway with all of this said, there are plenty of readers who will love this book, I just didn’t love it the way I normally love a Molly McAdams book.
